Kinder Minds Therapy Marks First Anniversary with Community Open Day
Kuching, Sarawak | 18 January 2026

Kinder Minds Therapy celebrated its first anniversary with a community Open Day on Sunday, 18 January 2026, welcoming members of the public, partners, and professionals to its Kuching space.
The Open Day brought mental health out of the therapy room and into everyday conversation. A key highlight was the launch of Play Therapy trainee services by Kim Tan, Co-Founder of Kinder Minds Therapy, giving families a closer look at play-based therapeutic approaches that support children’s emotional wellbeing in safe and age-appropriate ways. Play therapy uses play as a natural way for children to communicate. Through toys, drawing, storytelling, and imaginative play, children are supported to express feelings they may not yet have words for, make sense of difficult experiences, and build emotional regulation, confidence, and coping skills in a supportive and child-friendly environment.

Visitors also took part in an Ask-a-Therapist bar, where questions about therapy could be asked openly and informally, as well as a Mind Brew conversation, From Here, Onwards, held in collaboration with Mind Brew, which invited participants to reflect on wellbeing, growth, and the year ahead.
Founded in January 2025, Kinder Minds Therapy provides a warm, inclusive, community-centred space for children, young people, adults, and families. The Open Day reflected its ongoing commitment to making mental health support more approachable, human, and rooted in the local community.
